Afterbang Description

This ski gives you the creative performance advantage no other ski can.. It took four years to develop, but only one to become our #1 selling freestyle ski. Why? There’s quite simply nothing else like it. From our bombproof Skate Deck™ construction, to the Butterzones and Carbon Ollieband, it’s jammed full of the most innovative jib specific technologies for a fun, playful, jibtastic good time.
Lengths: 155, 166, 177

The art is created by Jimbo Phillips who with his father are responsible for creating skateboarding’s most legendary art since the 1980s. The same guy that created the famous Santa Cruz screaming hand. Each size ski features a different graphic. Mount one backwards and you’ll have lots to entertain yourself with on the chairlift. Jimbo and Jim’s art

The concept came from seeing that as urban & park skiing progresses so does the amount of abuse the product must take. This drove us to look outside of skiing for a new ski construction that better supports and fuels this progression. The undisputed most respected and most durable construction in action sports is the skateboard. We threw out everything we thought we knew about ski construction and started with the sport that also has the greatest influence on this style of skiing.

The engineering took over four year’s of research and development, and a level of secrecy that even the government could be proud of. We threw away the core, the topsheet and the sidewalls, and replaced it all with a 7-ply Maple veneer construction that runs edge to edge, tip to tail. just like a skateboard deck, the Maple provides uncompromised strength and resistance to shock throughout the entire ski. The plys are stacked from bottom to top, each layer progressively shorter in length to create an engineered flex pattern that has enabled us to precisely place the Butterzone closer to your boot for more leverage and control when buttering & pressing. The Carbon Ollieband adds extra pop and just like our other skis, we use our Fatty Base & Edge and a fiberglass laminate on the top and bottom to control torsional responsiveness, camber and flex.

GOOD STUFF!
  • 40% less plastic than a cap ski
  • 50% less plastic than a sidewall ski
  • 60% less wood waste

  • Take a deep breath, think different, ride different, be different, and the world will never be the same. . . for the good of the sport

    Reviews of the Afterbang Skis

i see a lot of people saying they have markers on them. does anybody have the rossignol fks on them? jw for a point of view.
Ryan thorsen, andes tower HILLS, MN, US
such a sick ski. they are really poppy yet have really controlled flex. the symetric design gives you a nice even swingweight on both tip and tail. tops chip but alot of people say it looks badass. graphics get alot of comments too
    Josh Satterfield, Steamboat, CO, US
I love my afterbangs. No matter what I want to ski, I can do it with my bangers. I bought some pow skis around the same time as my afterbangs and ended up using my bangs for both park and pow, just because of how playful they are. Great ski, great price, and a great time.

Got last years model, best ski i have skied, but by the end of the year tips and talls had major rockers from butters... Not what i want in park, bought those skis to butter and it ruined them... went to shop where bought them and was told line will not replace even know it was a ski malfunction... P G
Zach Lange, Boyne Mountain, MI, US
got the line afterbangs last year and ill i gotta say is amazing..these skis kill no matter what im doing urban, park, freeride wahtver, i love them mounted some marker griffon schizio bindings on the and love those too, best skies ive ever owned...
    Matt, Gunstock, NH, US
Thease skies are jesus. ok i got them on my k2 extrems i could only 1080 now i can 1260 so they are lighter off the jump and in air and stomp the landing better.Easier to front flip because of the butter zone the only thing is is hard for me now is skiing regular trails it is a little woboly.
Douche Bag, Douche Mount, FL, AF
Holy Crap When i first listened to this skis i jizzed my pants
    angy fleming, martock, CA

    Ryan, Whistler, BC, BC, CA
I'm only 14 years old, and my park has improved by far. I find rails are easy to get on with since the ski is built almost like a skateboard and I'm used to that cause I also skateboard. Thanks LINE! Finally a ski that fits my style (I ride the 155)
    Peter McGovern, sunappe, CT, US
alright so im about to get the afterbangs and im about 5'7 and idk weither i shud get the 166 or 177s? PLEASEE HELPP! THANKS GUYS!

no doubt the killers in the park. not that heavy too, dont know what these groms are talkin about. total ninja on switch ups and dub cork in the park. new fav ski
    Pat, Alpine Valley, MI, US
the afterbangs are sick, theres no other way to say it. i got the 166's and they are the best skis ive ever had. only negatives- pretty dang heavy, and the paint chips like no other but those are minor- buy these skis
    Victor, Taos, NM, US
These skis are great. Got the 177s and not only are they a great park and pipe ski, but they handle powder, moguls, groomed and steeps well. Alex, get the 177s, I'm 6'1" and they work great for me!! SKI AND DESTROY!!!
    Lucas, snocompton, WA, US
I love the skis i learned cork 7's and 9's with these even though they are heavy they keep the spin really balanced. Second the graphic does not matter that much even if it is a different color then what it looks like.
Dave, Echo, A-basin, Keystone, Beck., CO, US
I'm 5'6" 165 lbs on the 166, these things pop, they butter and have a balanced spin. Been beating em on the boxes, rails and wall rides and they have been holding up well. While the graphics are cool they look cooler thrashed from use, but thats just my opinion.
    tanner, Steamboat, CO, US
i have the 166 green ones they are awesome!!! and the graphics are sweet too. they are awesome for comps
    Drew, crotched, NH, US
i agree with johnny i could care less if this ski even had art work on it is sick reguardless
    Graham , Massanutten, VA, US
    GReat Park Ski!Holds up well,good GS Ski,not a SL ski,great Jump,rail etc...Buy It!
    johnny, ON, CA
i'm not trying to be a dick but why the fuck are so manny people bitching about the bass being a different coleur then what they thought it would be there sick skis and it really does not mattr that the graphic is a different coleur
    Jackson, Mayrhofen, AT
Jus wanted to say how much im lovin these skis! im light so can use em on all kickers and obv there great on rails too. Topsheet has chipped on the edges but no damage to really complain about, have owned worse skis for that! got the 177's love the gfx as im not a gangsta, so sick line keep pushin the industry your way!
Dirtstar Skier , ski snowstar , IL, US
these skis are amazing whoever says the top sheet comes off is retarded ive rode them over 15 times and theres barley scratches amazing skis the only minus i have is i ordered the 166s from evo gear which are supposed to have blue base, instead came with white ones that arent as cool
    pblcenmy, UT, US
just bought these yesterday and ski'd em today. I honestly don't know why but they feel heavier than my obsetheds to cary, but once you strap them on it's like a feather. i don't understand it. These skis rock and when people say the top sheet comes "right off" that is really an exaggeration. Sure it's probably the least durable part of the ski but it's not that bad and they'll ski the same either way. i'm rockin the 177 and yes they came with green bases. I would recommend these, they are a ton of fun and i hate seeing line and these skis get bashed. It's such a unique ski and i think it's definitely going to change at least the park ski industy since it's a completely new way to build a ski. in fact, it already has!
Im Me Bizz, ALYESKA BIZZ, AK, US
im riding invador 143s right now but im like 5 5 i am definately gonna get these skis next/ these skis with my marker griffons will rip **** up!!!
    Steve-O, Crystal Mountain, MI, US
Just got the 177's (blue base)in the mail, I cannot even explain how awesome these things look! the pictures you see don't do any justice at all! These skis are the most gnarly badass things i have ever seen, seriously, if you think there cool now, wait till they show up at your door. The construction is amazing, and the butter zones are moved back really nice... totally the coolest skis ever!
Peter McGovern, Mt. Sunappee, NH, US
Yo i just got these skis. i haven't used them yet but ive heard that theyre super light and flexible. however ive also heard theyre heavy and stiff. i dont have bindings on them yet and when i pick them up they aren't too heavy. what shud i believe?
    nathaniel, whitetail , WV, US
These skis are sick. Most durable skis I can find, great for jibbing anything from rails to rockledges. I love them I have the 166s with the green bases which look great off jumps and the reflection off the snow gives the illusion that they glow. Thanks for making a great product line props!
    Flash, Kroken, NO
Hey, just got these skis, they're F*cking dope, extreme pop, good on powder, SICK in pipe and just awesome while jibbing rails, and groomers.. If you are looking to get these.. BUY THEM!!
    Steve, Crystal Mt., MI, US
Just ordered, the 177s, i hear they totally pown... i hope they arent to heavy though, im thinking about getting the marker m12.0 bindings for them, hopefully they arent heavy either. hey guys, if any of you bought the 177s did they come with the white or green base? hope there green...
    Ole Nordmann, Alta ski, NO
When I got this ski (155) the first thing I noticed was that the color was much darker than the pic ^^ After a couple of days it started to come some ugly stripes at the edge. but still SICK SKI!! BUY IT!
Thomas Chappell, Greek Peak Mtn. (sucks never go there), NY, US
This is one of the greatest purchases i have made. these skis are full of energy every time you pop in. they will pop you sky high compared to othere skis. if you think invaders are poppy wait till you step into these bad boys i have never skied on a ski so flexible but still poppy!!!!i love line skis
    drew, sunapee, CT, US
these are super buttery i love them i can hold nose blocks so easily
    zack, Whiteface Mtn., Unknown
yo these skis perform! i dont only ski park and i have found that they are not terrible on the rest of the Mtn, but in the park they are amazing! you should deffinatly get these skis.
    tom, lake louise, AB, CA
jack what are the old skis you are using cus when i got the afterbang it was a super easy transition from my old skis, hittin bigger jumps throwing down bigger tricks etc. i would say do practice runs in the afterbang and if its not working switch back to your regulars for the comp
Michael , Wilmot Mountain, IL, US
I had these all season. There a realy great ski. The only rely downside is they can be heavy for hiking. They have great carving, sliding and pop. If you are looking at them GET THEM
    Jack, england motherfucker, GB
literally just had the afterbangs delivered. 166's with the blue bases and the marker griffin 12 bindings. they loook sicker than they do on the pictures and i cant wait to session them. problem is the next time im sessioning them happens to be BUISC (British University Indoor Snow Championships). question is, do i go for it with the new skis or stick with what im used to. i think i know the answer but it feels like a fuckin crime not to sesh the new skis
    ryan hazel, bradford, MA, US
dude swwet skiis shredded when i used my friends. but i was mad perplexed when people were saying the height and weight in proportion 2 the ski. im like 5"8" and 153 lbs and i can bang big 1ns out on my 195 rossignol world cups so that doesnt matter its how comfortable you want i got a pair of fisher progressors that are 155 and i feel like a freaking balerina but when i use my fischer rc4 world cup 174s and my fischer cold heat 176s im not quite as agile but when i use the voikkl rac tigeres that are 163s im still a ninja but not as much as if i were on my 155cm. if any1 is looking for ninja like skis no matter what 155s or 166 are wre its @ and everyone likes 2 be a ninja.
    johnny, camp fortune, ON, CA
yo, im wondering which ski is better for holding nose blocks and stuff, the anthems or afterbangs
    Saal, land fill, IL, US
yo i dont know whether to get these, the anthems or the nordica dead moneys. im 6'2" 150 lb. so im thinkin the 177's.
    Matt, SUGARLOAF, ME, US
These skis are flat out dope. Super light and actually carve well on the groomers. Anyone who thinks they're heavy obviously has mounted some ridiculously heavy bindings. My suggestion is Salomon STH 12's. This set absolutely shreds in the park. I'd recommend these to anyone except people who like to keep they're skis in perfect condition. But if you're like that then you shouldn't be in the park in the first place.
Jeff, Any in the Midwest, WI, US
I just got my 166cm Afterbangs and took them out yesterday. Discrepancies: The 166cm has the green top that is shown on the 166 TOP, but also has the lime green bottom that is shown on the 177 BASE and not the blue that is shown for the 166 BASE. The lime green bottom kicks major butt though, they look awesome. Con: Yes, just one. Like a wood skateboard, the top of these skis damage easily. The edges are tore up on the top from some not-so-great rail landings and the graphics are peeling a little. Pros: After a few hours park riding, the bottom of these skis still look brand new. They can take abuse like no other ski I've owned. The pop nicely off the jumps and the butter zone is pretty sweet. They handle groomed hills very well, which is nice for us in the Midwest where you have to ride the groomed hills to get to the park most of the time. The center mount is just awesome for forward and backward switches, they are just as comfortable riding backwards as they are forward. I would recommend these to anyone who enjoys park riding, they performed awesome.
funkyCHpimp, Discovey basin yo, MT, US
yo this is whats up.... i jus ordered these bad ass skis right... and ive been reading all these reviews right... some say its too stiff... some say too heavy and others say its amazing as tits. if your one of the ones saying its so so heavy.... well my friends your all wrong cause i checked the weight in grams per ski an i looked at every sic ski out there, on many different sites. these were like 3,600 garms per ski compared to like 3,8oo an up on almost every other ski. theres more people saying its light an poppy than too heavy and stiff so id recommend them to all yall busters out dare.
Tucker Link, Mt. Baker, WA, US
I love this ski, but it is super stiff.
    Zachary, Whiteface, NY, US
yo these skis are so freakin sick! i just got them for christmas and they are just so awesome. love the new skateboard design base, they flex so much more than any ski i have ever had. afterbangs rock!!!
    Graham, Mt. Baker, WA, US
so, i just got these skis. a bit on the heavy side, but they're the flexiest ski i've ever rode. overall i'd give them 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
    johnny, camp fortune, ON, CA
to chris, you should probably get the 177 because 5,11 in cm is 180 cm .
    Chris, CA, US
Hey I'm 5'11, 143 lbs and still growing. Should I buy the 166's or the 177's?
    Jeffrey, Labrador, NY, US
These are sick skis to ride the park on. Except the top of them comes off easily. But overall they are sweet.
    ALEX$$$$$$$$$$, Unknown
YO viciousunknown i dont way much and i got the px12 on my 166 afterbangs..... they way alot go with the pivot or just a basic rossignol biding that iz what most of my friends are using.. im trading my afterbangs for the chronics they are sooo much sicker
    Marcus, Big White, BC, CA
joey favara, bear creek, PA, 166 for you. 177 is too big. im 5'9 and i need 177
joey favara, bear creek, PA, Unknown

    John, Toggenburg Mtn., NY, Unknown
I was just wondering if I should get the 177s or the 166s. I'm 5'7 140 pounds and still growing.
    ViciousUnknown, Le Grand Bornand, GB
Such a sick ski, anyone who's complaining that they're heavy needs to try some of the competition, or maybe bot buy px12s. I have em mounted up with Jesters and theyre a breezy, buttery ride. Soo good on urban, in the park on smaller features and all over the mountain.
    bossman , hunter, Unknown
should i wax these bad boys before i start rippin?
    ALEX$$$$$$$, Unknown
SUPERUNKNONE i have the dynastar px12 on them and they way a tone 2... i think its just the biding but im not 100% sure.... try the pviot if you have the cash i hear its a great biding.....
    Otto, Åre, SE
Are they light and flexible and will they survive all those crashes and slashes? Because, now I have Armada Ar3 skis, and they are super light and super flexible, will these Line skis be also so great? Waiting answer.
    Owen, Whiteface, NY, Unknown
Hey im pretty 50/50 when it comes to riding either in the park or just downhill i was wondering if this would be a bad investment if im not a hardcore terrain kinda guy. All i want is a ski i can mess around with to learn new things and also be able to just ride down a mountain for fun.
    colton cannon, MN, US
are super sweet best park ski ever
Ralph Dunn, Afton Alps, MN, US
Finally got to ski and holy crap are these things flexy. So much pop best ski ever Line.
    SuperUnknown, SE
I just got theese skis, I haven't tried em' out yet, but when i got them, they weight a TON! they are soooo heavy?! from what I had heard, they were supposed to be really light weight. I have the marker griffon bindings on..maybe it's them causing all the weight? does your afterbangs also weigh a ton? It feels like its gonna be hard doing switch ups and whatnot having to lift a ton under your feet...
    nick, MI, US
Christan, they do, but not bad..... i own them and they only chip very small on the sides from the two skis bumping into each other........ so the main point is that their is nothing to worry about
    Christian, Mt creek, NJ, US
So i am hearing that these skis get beat upp very easily? The top sheet is not durable and chips very easily since its wood. Anyone with that issue? I am getting the bangs tomorrow cuz i hear they are very fun ski
    jo, alpine valley, IL, US
I luv these skis. too bad i cant ski for a while cuz i tore my acl
    alex$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, Crabbe mountain NB, Unknown
Thx double D... but i already got them and ya they way a tone!!!! i should of got the pivots but what can you do you know i already got them so..... where you able to slay rails with them tho?
    LARWRENCE, holiday valley, NY, US
mayynne what to say these skis are 80% jib ,,,, i think not these tear up groomers. not even slippin on my first fun taking turns as fast as i could and then buttering off a landing and doing nose blonks all over the place my 1 east coast ski for sure so happy with these
    Double~D, MI, Unknown
hey ALEX$$$$$, don't put that px jib on anything, except a back country ski. They weigh so effin much. I know its marketed as a jib binding...i have a pair on my chronics they are killer but they weight like a pound more per binding than anything except cinder blocks. Go with the new look pivot if you can afford it or the griffins if your light enough its lighter than the jester. I got a pair of these and they are so poppy !! its awesome!!
    Alex, CA, US
These skis are awesome.. Picked up the 177, moved up from 161 invaders. It's sick how light these things feel on jibs and with way more pop. Doesn't feel like I have another 11cm under me until i land on this huge platform
    jon, ON, CA
    i need help IM 5' 7" 166 or 177
chris schiraldi, mt. southington, CT, US

SUCH A FUN SKI!!! Super low swing weight and nice and poppy, yet soft for fun butters. I'm 5' 8" 155lbs and I got the 177 - they fit PERFECTLY. This is my new favorite ski BY FAR.
kevin , fernie bc , CA
i freakin love my afterbangs supportive when u need it but buttery when u want it they are also nice and light and poppy. i ride the 177 and im 5'8
    billy, mt snow, Unknown
hasnt been a review in a while but has anyone riddin this ski yet ...... how does it hold up on rails
    Be, Moonlight basin, MT, US
Sick skis stiff but poppy well done line
    Spence, ON, CA
Open Question: How do these skis ride compared to skis with a more conventional design (especially when carving)? Thanks in advance for the replies.
    John Satterfield, steamboat, CO, US
I'm 5 foot and was wondering if a 155 would be to big
    billy, MA, US

I can tell you why you should not buy K2 Disorderlys .. because K2 sucks. I got the afterbangs and they are indestructable.
    David, TX, SE
I´m thinking of buying these skis. I wanna know if this skateboard construction makes the ski lighter. Can anyone tell me why I should buy this ski instead of K2 Disordely that I´m also thinking of to buy.

David Wesley, Mount Washington, B.C , BC, CA
Hey I am 5'10 and 170 pounds. I don't know what size of ski to get... the 166 or 177? I want a ski that will be solid enough on the big landings but small enough to be introduced to the jibbing part of skiing.
Bryce Newall, Mount Washington B.C,, CA

    row, fj7 3et, GB
the afterbangs are good for jibbing and air, they are a smooth ride, but most of all they can take a bashing

question! i'm 5'7 165 pounds. i thought about getting the 177s but thought they might be too unplayful. i hear that if i move up it would increase speed and landings, but it might be harder to butter. should i move up or down, PLEASE HELP!

NICK MEHL, the ski your looking for is the chronic. I have a pair and love em". They will never fail you in the jumps and can take on the worst of mount bohemia up at copper harbor. they are kinda stiff tho, but its what your going to have to live with if you want to be able to rip with the stick dodgers on the blacks

i don't now if i should get these or the masterminds because I'm in the park 90% of the time but in the back country the other will they still hold or should i go with the masterminds

I'm getting mine this weekend, can't wait! Just can't decide whether to get the 166 or the 177. I'm 5'9 and i've been riding the 171 invader for the past few seasons which was perfect for me! What do you reckon. Line Skis Rule

i would like to know if this is a good ski for jumps in the east.... not big and is it good for going down runs like black diamonds

im getting these skis this friday but I'm wondering if it is also possible to ride these in the backcountry or is it just to hard to that with such a flexible ski?
Jarrod, Ski Sundown! , CT, US
in the mail... in the mail... my afterbangs are in the mail! yay!

Hey if i wanted to get these skis, what would be the best size. I am 16, 6 foot, and 145lbs.
    Peter, Afton Alps, MN, US
And yes they are a true twin, so center mount them
    Peter, Afton Alps, MN, US
Nate, I would say 155 would be the best choice. I'm 5'4" 110 pounds riding a 151 invader which is perfect, although when I got them i was 5'1", but they still worked great. You'll have some room to grow into them.
    Nate, Mount Sunapee, NH, US
i havent bought them yet but first i want to know if they are a true twin? does it matter whcih way theyre mounted? second if im 5'3" and like 120 lb which one should i get the 155, 166 or 177?

first off these are hands down the best rail/jib ski i have ever riden. i was skeptical of there jumping ability at first but they hold there own suprisingly well on big tables. i even took them into the backcountry once and sent some cliffs haha. i love the afterbangs, they have outlasted any pair of skis i have owned.
Ralph Dunn, Afton Alps, MN, US
They are prety heavy compared to other twin tips but you get it back in durability and performance.
Ralph Dunn, Afton Alps, MN, US
Just Got them hope there as good as they say. But of course they are there Lines

the poles are the most underrated part of skiing. use these, ski better, look cool, and get tons of girls staring at your afterbangs. grip like griptape.
    Tyler Barnes, Park City, US
After a full season of riding the Afterbang, I can say with confidence that, in addition to being the funnest rail/jib ski that i have encountered, it is also great for pretty much anything you could think of doing in a terrain park. The skate deck construction has proved it's self to me as the preeminent design for withstanding the abuse of urban and rail skiing environments. It's low swing weight and symmetrical design are ideal for rail tricks that call for you to be quick on your feet, and its unique flex allows for nollies and butters like never before. Also, contrary to speculation, the Afterbang proved it's self as being a more than suitable as a jump ski for me all season.
    Maxamas, CASG, unknown, ON, CA
First off, these 2 decks have so much pop its now soda. You wanted butter? The Afterbang brings you 7 maple layers of it to spread one consistent flex for all types of fun. Since the Butter zones moved closer to the middle of the ski, those higher grind bars just got a whole lot lower. You can beat the Afterbang all you want, the only thing its gonna get is a couple scratches on the best ski graphic ever. Enjoi.
