Prophet 90 Description

Go anywhere, all-mountain, quiver of one
The Prophet 90 shares the same construction and geometry DNA as the 100, but in a more versatile width. It too has received top awards this season by magazine product testers, recognized as the all-mountain skier’s favorite, go anywhere, ski anything, all-mountain quiver of one that has no boundaries.
Lengths: 158, 165, 172, 179, 186

Concept: Wide skis are better for riding in soft snow but obviously you’re going to sacrifice responsiveness on the hard pack. We set out to create the perfect middle of the spectrum ski that you can jump into the woods for some freshies and still blow the doors off the carving skis when it comes to ripping the groomers.

Art: We searched for artwork that represented the soulful, yet incredibly natural power of these skis. We went back 133 YEARS and actually purchased an original Japanese rice paper scroll painted by Unzen Hattori in the summer of 1876. We added the LINE logo and it was complete.

Engineering: The 90mm waist was the starting point that we knew from experience would offer the best float without sacrificing edge control. We then applied the Metal Matrix, a unique freeride specific technology that enables a wide ski to perform with the agility, precision and responsiveness of a narrow ski. The Metal Matrix is a Die cut Titanal laminate that places more power where you need it, and reduces weight where you don’t. The result is an incredibly light weight, super agile, quick on your feet carving ski feel on the groomed, while maintaining all of the extreme high speed, big-mtn stability. We also utilized a directional flex, and P-Cut geometry for directional edge to edge precision and comfort that is second to none.

Tried SFB, P100s and P90s at Squaw and Northstar from 24" POW to Moguls. Bought P90s finding them the most versatile for Tahoe snow with no reservations. If I lived in Utah or Wyoming I'd get the SFBs. P100s were great as well. Just lacked P90 grip on icy groomers. But don't fret, any of the 3 would work in Tahoe outside the park. Buy, Rip, Repeat.....

Why does the 90 weigh 20% MORE than the 100? Same construction and materials, but the 90 is 10mm thinner. So why is is 20% heavier?

LOVE THESE BOARDS. They rip Vermont as much as Colorado. The perfect ski for anyone looking for the one pair that truly does it all ...including looking amazing hanging in your basement 51 weeks out of the year! When you only have a 1-2 week season these are the ONLY skis I would trust.

These skis are unbelievable. They shredded the ice on bad days and laid down freshies so well on the powder days. Hold their own so well on both the groomers and in the back country glades. Also, no matter where you ski them, they will hold your carve unnaturally long.

AMAZING! I am a big aggressive all mountain terrain type of skier. Today was my first day on my new Prophet 90's... WOW... Given that I ski primarily on the East Coast I wasn't sure about the performance of a 90mm underfoot "twin-tip". Needless to say the skis ripped qucik turns on the soft snow on the sides of the trail and could handle speed and East Coast "packed powder" with ease. My friends commented about how much faster and more confident my skiing was. I didn't think as ski could make so much of an impact on my skiing.. The Guys at Untracked.com recommended them and I give them rave reviews for the reoommendation. I honestly would have not thought about Line if they hadn't so stronly recommended them... Both Line and Untracked.com both have new a new HUGE fan!

Bought my Prophet 90s about a year and a half ago and have no regrets. They shred the groomers with ease and make switch riding a breeze. While they aren't a substitute for some serious powder skis on those deep days here in Jackson Hole, they will handle a couple of inches of the fluffy stuff no sweat. Totally versatile and a great value.

Gentlemen: I have been skiing on the Salomon Foil (174 and 84 uf) for two years in the Tahoe area. Love the twin tips vs. traditional. Recently, demo'd the Helldiver (cause it was all they had in my size that 90uf+) at 170 and 90uf, I felt a little bit more comfortable working the shorter ski in the bumps and trees and enjoyed the extra width. Most everyone I have consulted with has told me that I should get a pair of the Line Prophet 90 and 100. I am advanced level and like to hit everything on the mountain; I am really looking for that one ski to fall in love with. I have very little experience with length sizes for twin tips. Any recommendations or rules of thumb. Struggling between the 90 at 165; 90 at 172 or the 100 at 172; what do you think?

Based on these reviews and the fact that everyone skiing Lines is always raving about them when I ask in lift lines, I just traded in my Volkl Walls for a pair of 179 Prophet 90s. I can't wait to try them out this weekend! 6'0", 200 lbs, going on my 30th year of skiing hard in Colorado. Intended use: 40% moguls along with a mix of trees, crud and/or light powder when it's around and playing in the park (360 is my limit to date).

I've had my prophets since the beginning of the season and tragically the one powder day so far out East, I destroyed some crappy old Marker bindings I had mounted on these beasts. Yeah, they're heavy, but really stiff and incredibly stable at high speeds. The biggest difference with these from other skis (Line Skogan Sprang, Atomic Sweet Daddy, Atomic Snoop) is their ability to carve at mach speed through cruddy/crappy snow. Not too bad for short quick turns either, especially for their weight and length (mine are 186). Awesome ski, can't wait to take them to Tahoe in a couple weeks and see how they float.
Adam, Cannon, NH, US
I just spent my first weekend on mine. Whoa! These are absolutely the finest skis I've ever skied. I was hesitant about 90mm under foot but they turn so beautifully at all speeds, tear up all sorts of terrain and are stable at mach speed. It is one of the easiest skiing skis I've had. I love and recommend the Prophets. Plus, no one has them and the chicks dig 'em.

I demoed these skis at Mount Snow on hard-pack, soft snow and some small bumps. No powder. The ski turns very nice and holds up in cruddy eastern conditions and today was pretty bad. Very fast edge to edge turning. Stable at high speed also. Rather strange look that gets attention. I have to decide on size - ran with 172, perhaps I should move up a notch.

FUN,FUN,FUN...Cannot say enough good things about the PROPHET 90. Im 6'1" 200lbs and have a pair of the 178s with marker duke bindings. Have been skiing them at the local Mt. packed powder/ice, typical New England conditions. The ski ROCKS nice and stiff holds an edge. Haven't had this much fun in years on the slope .

So I'm looking around for a pair of all mountain skis for my brother. He's an advanced skier who is 5'10" and weighs 160lb. Would these work as a good all mountain ski that can easily handle powder? Also, should he go with the 172 or 179? I'm hesitant to get him the longer of the two, but I hear that this skis short so maybe it would work.
BART, The Canyons, UT, US
Couldnt wait to ski them....NOW CANT WAIT TO SKI THEM AGAIN. Really fun ski floats well in the deep stuff(30 inches worth)and excelent on the groomers.
Patrick, Mont Tremblant, Unknown
These skis rip. No kidding. This is a real person, real testimonial. I bought these without demoing them and tried them at Mount Snow on 12 17 09 for the first time. It was freezing, but I was still laughing all day because of how happy I was with my purchase. Short turns: real quick, bouncy almost, but still stiff. Big Turns: They hold an edge and it is easy to find the sweet spot. They can really cook too. Deeper Snow: They float and give you nice control. They are light and quick, but stiff and also nimble. Best skis I have owned. I am 6'1'' and 210 lbs. I got the 186s and am so glad I did.
Scott Dickie, west coast, Canada, AB, CA
I bought the 2007 prophet 90's when they first came out, and wow that have been the best ski's I have ever been on. Super fast, agile and very easy to ski on. Just with I had the graphics of the 2009's!
BART, Canyons, UT, Unknown
Just picked them up from the shop! cant wait to ski!
colin, lake louise, AB, CA
Robie you should get the SF Bacons
Robbie, Stowe, RI, US
Are theses skis also good for jumps and in the park as well as the backcountry and the trees and the cliffs if not what other type of skis should i get
Colman Hartinger, Sugarbowl, CA, US
im 5'10 130 a advanced skier i usually ski 7 days a year and try to get up when there is powder but not often should i get these or the 100's
Fiona Macdonald, Whakapapa , NZ
I am a mature discerning lady skier & these skis live up to their reputation as I wanted a ski that held an edge on the ice and at the same time be great at charging through the soft. I ski in the North Island at Whakapapa which cops the prevailing weather from Australia and this makes our ski conditions variable & challenging. I am happy with my 2010 172cm Prophets and I get lots of comments - I am heading to Colorado this January so I will see how they perform in the powder?

Extreme skiing (55° slope) in Ala-archa valley (KGZ), frozen snow, ice-pick in one hand, strong Prophet 90 and amazing mountains!! to be continued...
Bill Dexter, shawnee peak, steamboat, ME, US
line prophet ninety. joyful skiing for William. float in pow and crud.
Rob, KIRKWOOD, CA, US
Awesome Skis! Just got the Prophet 90 and used it at Squaw after new snow. Floats in the soft stuff yet rails cord like BUTTER! Best skis I've ever had.
Chris, Stratton, Unknown
You really can't ask for a better all-mountain quiver than the Pandora 90 As an ex-downhill east coast racer I didn't have high expectations for corner grip and speed but, WOW was I surprised the first time I ripped off a few turns. These bad larrys will stick like you wouldn't believe, they're playful enough for the park and wide enough to float in the deep stuff. Line still delivers a quality product above the rest.
Chris Bradburn, Mount Bohemia, Caberfae Peaks, MI, US
Bought my Prophet 90s about 2 weeks ago and have loved every minute on them. Skiied everything Michigan can throw at me...powder, groomers, icy slicks - no problem. The ski is very light and responsive. It absolutely loves to go fast and rip turns. A fantastic ski.
Brent McClure, Alpine Valley or Jackson Hole, MI, US
Right now I'm at my house in Michigan, and we just got close to a foot of snow here in Oakland County. So I thought, time to take my Prophet 90's out for a run at Alpine! I had never skied them before. As soon as I hit the slopes i realized that this was a ski that liked to go fast and turn wide. It was cutting right through the powder and everything. It's also quite nice in the park/or off of jumps, it takes a hard or soft landing quite nice. All in all this is a rippin' ski that anyone who is looking for a wider more all-mountain ski should get! Plus i get many people saying how sick they look =), i have the 2007/2008 version.
Phil, Crested Butte, CO, US
I bought these as my work ski at Crested Butte. I've spent over 130 six hour days on them and they are still rippin. They hold every groomer and stay responsive in the trees. I've been impressed on how well they crash through crud and break through choppy stuff. It does surprisingly well in the pow for a 90 waist. I doubt there's a better all mountain ski out there.
Rob, Scotland/Alps, GB
Just got myself a pair of these. We just got about a foot of powder in Scotland and it's just turned November! The ski's were as amazing as the snow! Could rip up anything with ease!
John, Vail, CO, US
I took my 90's out to Vail last year....and all a gotta say is they were perfect..i love them.
Scott Yarnell, killington, VT, US
I picked up a pair of the prophet 90s for my trip out to Utah this year. they were really the perfect ski to conquer the variable conditions. the skis hold a real solid edge, even on ice, and carved beautifully pow and through tree lines. also, the fatty base and edge was key for for those times you land on rocks. decent for spins and switch too. buy them.
Luke Chambers, Alyeska, AK, US
Bought the Prophet 90's almost 2 weeks ago. Just walked in after riding 28" of the Chucach Range's lightest fluff. Awesome float over the powder and super responsive through the trees. Absolute most fun pair of skis I've ever riden. Totally stoked. . .
Brian, park city, UT, US
best skis ever ridden, bar none. they shred all conditions from deep powder to the park. no dings on the fatty bases
Brian, Stowe, VT, US
These are the sickest boards ive ever ridden, they absolutley rip on hardpack and in the pow. I was so suprised when i tried them that they could handle both. I ski them every single day whether pow or ice. buy em, theyr great
Robbie Reeve, Blue Mountain, ON, CA
These boards rip! I took my prophets to Jay Peak right after a 3 foot storm and ripped the trees like never before. Moguls, pow, chutes, these are the fastest and easiest to turn skis I've ever rode on. I was a teneighty kid for 7 years, never agian.
Shaun Arntsen, Sunshine, AB, CA
Great ski, turns really well both frontside and switch. Not the best ski in the deep stuff, but for all round it kicks ass! My frontline ski for this season and many to come I am sure.
John Eisenman, Chestnut Mountain and Summit County, CO, US
I am not a park or pipe guy, and after a morning of playing on the backside I'm ready to cruise the groomers in the afternoon. These skis are great for the powder and crud in the bowls, and the groomers and soft bumps on the front side. They will be THE ski for trips out west. It's also pretty cool to get the "thumbs up" from the lefties when they see these skis.
