PROPHET 130 SKI

The original modern day super fat ski. This 130mm waisted powder specific ski floats with ease, yet maintains performance and control on the groomed unlike any other. This year we even added an additional 10mm to the height of the Early Rise for even more effortless float in the deep stuff.

Concept: Prior to the creation of the Prophet 130 in 2001 the only real difference between a powder specific ski and an all-mountain ski was the width all other characteristics were almost identical and the widest at the time was still under 105mm. Lucky for us, Eric Pollard had a vision for a powder ski that was based not on traditional all-mtn skis but instead designed from scratch based on what actually would work best in powder.

Art: We set out to find artwork that represented the soulful, yet incredibly natural power of these skis. We went back 133 YEARS and actually bought an original Japanese rice paper scroll painted by Unzen Hattori in the summer of 1876 and added a LINE logo.

Engineering: Eric Pollard was quick to point out that one of the most critical factors in a ski’s design to keep it afloat in the powder was the tip geometry. At that time, most skis shared the same tip rise and profile. We completely re-invented the way we designed a tip shape by giving it a slight Early Rise so that it would automatically be angled up out of the snow without the need for you to get in a back seat position. The tip also was created with a multi radius profile to rise out of snow fast, then plane on top for consistent float. Another important design feature is the Early Taper which moves the widest point in from the tip of the ski so that when on edge, the ski will not hook in pow. We’re honored and happy to see how the original Prophet 130 has influenced today’s modern powder ski designs.

personally these skis don't do the trick. last year in august down at sass there was a 7.5 ft snow storm in two days, i have a pair of fat skis from every company to try them out but the 130's didn't cut it for me. They didn't float all that well due to lack of flex and i found that the k2 hellbents where the best skis in the 7.5 ft dump there okay for 2.5 ft dumps and thats it the next ski i would go to is volkl chopsticks sorry there not that great

I'm big boy, 6'7". 280 pounds, (Yes, I used to play football). The 130's are the sickest thing I've ever ridden. Even in the wettest Washington snow, I know I can strap on my 130's and its like floating on the clouds.

Great skis, but time for an update!!! With the added rocker, it skis even shorter then it used to, and having a 130 with more length (190 to 192) with this rocker would be INSANE!! Make this ski longer and with a tad narrower tail, and it is game on!!!

I bought the Prophet 130's after 1 season of lovin' the 100's. I was booked on a cat ski trip at Chattercreek in the Canadian Rockies starting 1/2/08. Cat ski operators stock powder skis for alpine skiers, but nothing for tele-skiers, so I decided I needed to buy the right ski for the trip of a lifetime. I was SO glad I did: we hit it big. There are pics of me armpit-deep in cold smoke! What a trip. The 130s gave me the confidence and freedom to throw a turn wherever I needed. The next winter, same timing, we went to Monashee Powder in central BC. We hit it big again! Monster snows...almost too much snow. Both guides were tele skiers, and both were drooling about the Prophet 130s. I had brought the 100s for backup, because, again, heli and cat outfitters can accommodate alpine skiers, but not tele skiers. So Iet the guides ski the 130's for a couple of runs. The first guide started skidding vedel turns thru 3' of pow immediately off the cat track. The group erupted in laughter. At the end of the run he said "Mark, if you get buried in an avalance, can I have your Prophets?" Ummmmmm...sure Steve. He later emailed me to say that he bought a pair. These are fantastic skis. Sometimes rocker can be dangerous - like when you really need to dig in. These skis provide control but let you smear and skid your way thru all sorts of dicey situations. I love Line skis! Setup: Hammerhead bindings in 4th position, mounted 2 cm ahead of chord center, Garmont Ener-G's Seriously: if us tele guys can rock these skis, you alpine guys can surely stomp them. Have at it!

Got set up with these late last season for some of the heavy and deep stuff... They feel like riding two hot knives through butter. I threw on some Dukes just so I could continue the fun after the season too!

Dear Line skis and Crew who brought us the Prophet 130, THANK YOU FOR MAKING SKIING SO MUCH FUN!!! I gotta admit, it took me until last season to finally try the 130. Being 6'0" and roughly 220 in gear, I have always been under the notion of needing at least 190cm's or more for a good ride on a pow ski. Well, last year I was at a shop at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and saw the 130 demos sitting there. 2-3 feet of fresh had fell the night before. I decided to give'em a try. WOW was I so taken by surprise! I hit Mineral basin at Snowbird with thigh to waist deep and was so blown away with how good this ski blew through the pow! I couldnt get the tips to sink! I was giggling like a kid on Christmas morning! Thenn when it was getting trakced out and firm to scetchy - WOW! Again, blown away with how good they 130's skied! They can carve good enough on firm to cruise back to the tram. In crud they just plow over and through it all! I WAS SOLD! I put a deposit down on the 2010 130's as soon as I could and bought a 185 Motherhsip to compliment and couldnt be happier! The perfect 2 ski quiver (although I do own 4 other pairs of skis - they probably wont see much action now!) LINE SKIS RULES!!!

they are awesome stiff enough that they work on the groomers and like skiing on butter all the time the only part that sucks is there not so good in the park. so ya rating out of 10 they get a 9.

I recently purchased the Prophet 130's (186)cm, what an amazing ski. I regularily ski my chronic wides (187cm), as an all mtn ski. The verdict: I am hooked, these skis are stable & remarkably nimble, decent on the groomers when you come back to reality...

No so great for me. lost my edges in the powder and not so great for when you build a jump in the back country. no good for really anything but just back country for me.
Tony Rossi, Alta, UT, US
Dear Prophet 130, Thank you so much for being there for me. The past four years have been the best four years of my life. You have provided ultimate floatation, snappy response, and a landing pad the size of NY city. You have guided me through the steepest most gnarliest lines and biggest drops of my life. I know that when I lean on you, you will give it all you have and keep asking for more. Your Early Rise Tip and Early Taper make me yearn for snow and your 130mm Waist make me drool at night. I can't wait to step into your Marker Duke bindings and go for a walk to the top of the next mountain we will tame. Thank you...thank you. You should buy these skis cause they will make you want to thank them too.
Stacey, Cannonmountain, NH, US
i think Tony hit the nail on the head when he coined the 130 as the "original gangsta". This ski was ahead of its time. As the rest of the industry caught up with the fat ski revolution, line perfected the 130, making it the best cambered fat ski in the world. i was in alpine meadows after a 3.5ft wet sierra dump. Everyone including snowboarders augered in cursing at the top of ther lungs, almost no one could plane on top of the sierra cement. By noon there were only 4 of us still riding, two of us on the "O.G." and the others two were on the old 6in wide powder plus. thank you line, if it wasnt for the 130 i would of been swearing instead of smiling.
Ike Smith, Mt. Hood, OR, US
This is a great ski for anyone looking to ski powder and chop with total control. It is stiff enough to handle any snow condition, yet still playful enough to butter off of any little bump or roller you can find. Not to mention it has early rise allowing your legs more runs as you won't be leaning back at all in the pow. Get this ski!
Mike Cattie, Kicking Horse, BC, CA
Super fun skis. Love to pivot. Very surfy feel. Make 5cms feel like 20. Used them anytime we had fresh at the Horse. So glad I have a pair!!!
Jay Lynn, Squaw Valley, CA, US
Sick ski, really fast, really agile, and definately not too big. Get some!
Cobra Commander, Mt. Hood Skibowl Baby!, OR, US
Don't fear the fat! These boards will make you a better big mountain skier. Super easy in pow, suprisingly agile in bumps and trees. Strap in and feel the G's!
Jay V, Backcountry, CO, US
These skis are incredible...I have rode them on anything from packed powder to deep powder blower, and they just plow through everything. Same length as the Prophet 100's I have, but SUCH a different ski, not just width...GREAT ski!!
Ben Jacobsen, Alta Backcountry, UT, US
Buttery smooth goodness. This ski just rock for floating and ripping in the pow. If you're not already an addict, these skis will make you an instant powder junkie.
Bjornar Bjorhusdal, Jostedal, NO
Today i rode the 130 for the first time in true powder since I got the skis last fall. OMG! I rode twice as fast with twice the control, and also twice the enjoyment. You can pump the pow and you can carve it too!! I had to skin back up for a second 1000m of skiing. It's not too wide, and it tours great, im on dynafit bindings on this baby, looks strange, but is fantastic!
prosper, hafjell, QC, CA
those skise are amaizing they way they are the way they look like they are just fantastic try them and you will see for your self.
Charlie Berg, North Tahoe, CA, CA, US
Best backcountry / big-mountain ski I have ever used. Stable, but easy to turn. Stomps airs like nothing else. Ski forward or backward. Does not limit you in way, and that is pretty rare.
