The last month has been more uneventful then I would have hoped. After a somewhat useless visit to the doctor to tell me my ankle’s not broken I continued to lay low missing out on my first opportunities of the year to film with the Poorboyz crew as well as the Meatheads crew. After a couple of mellow days at Park City my friends and I headed off to Lake Tahoe in California for the inaugural North Face Open competition at Northstar. Though the jumps were a little small the course was very well built and very smooth with a wider variety of features than most slopestyle runs. The weather was “ahh California, beautiful” all weekend and with the help of a little Tylenol and a lot of Ibuprofen I ended up in second place in the slopestyle competition just missing the coveted X-Games spot by 1 place to Chris Logan who not only deserved to win, but deserves to be in X-Games as he was killing it literally all weekend including the practice day. After the finals I once again bailed on my plans to film with the Poorboyz crew to try to allow my ankle to rest for the week leading up to second dew tour stop in my home state of Vermont! Winter continues and until next time! – LJ
