The LINE Sakana
Surely you’ve probably heard of the Sakana by now. A ski born from the same DNA as the LINE Pescado, the Sakana has been ‘wowing’ and impressing everyone who straps on a pair since the release of them in Fall of 2018. Winning titles such as Skier’s Choice in Powder Magazine, Best of Show in Freeskier, and Ski of the Year in Fall Line Skiing should give you a pretty good idea that these skis are the real deal. But what makes the Sakana so special?
A Resolute Paradigm Shift Ski Design
Simply put, the Sakana allows you to bring the fun all over the mountain. With a unique shape that encourages a wide variety of turn shapes and reinforced with a Carbon Flax Tape for added edge hold, the Sakana is equally at home maneuvering tight trees while opening it up on the wind buff of the high alpine. The Sakana is a resolute paradigm shift ski design, and can exhibit a variety of turn shapes. Featuring a pushed back mounting point, you can actually size down without losing any edge-grip. Size down, turn faster, and have more fun.
Eric Pollard Design
Beyond representing LINE as an athlete, Eric Pollard has cemented his name in the ski industry by designing the graphics and and shapes of his pro-model skis since the early 2000s. The Sakana is no exception. From the guy who masterminded the Pescado, we couldn’t be more excited to have worked with Eric to bring about another revolutionary design in the ski industry.

All Mountain Versatile
Sitting at 105mm underfoot, you might be thinking the Sakana is just another powder ski, and you would be right! But it is an extremely versatile powder ski. With a swallow tail that has no taper and extends the effective edge all the way to the end of the ski, you can rip some groomers on the Sakana. Not to mentioned the wide tip’s capabilities of plowing through crud and slush.
Powder, groomers, spring crud, it really doesn’t matter. The Sakana is here to handle it all! Pick yourself up a pair today and smearing, slashing, and ripping!
LINE and Eric Pollard have teamed up once again to present “Burning Sidewall”, a short film produced by Nimbus Independent which highlights exactly what the ski is capable of. Featuring the talents of Canadian Rob Heule and Pollard himself, the film is less of an explanation of the ski but rather a celebration of skiing. Shot in Pollard’s backyard of Mt. Hood, Oregon at Timberline Lodge, “Burning Sidewall” chases Rob and Pollard as they carve, slash, and blast through the rolling terrain that has been so instrumental in shaping and inspiring Eric for the entire course of his career.
