A Day in Innsbruck with Lisa Zimmermann

March 24, 2026

Innsbruck has always been one of those places that feels baked into European ski culture, and this edit with Lisa Zimmermann taps right into that. Get physio, get ready and go skiing with her as the Downdays crew documents the whole day.

Spend a day with our favorite German pro Lisa Zimmermann in the latest installment of Core Shots by Downdays, a behind the scenes look at the life of pro skiers. Innsbruck has always been one of those places that feels baked into European ski culture, and this edit with Lisa Zimmermann taps right into that. It is not a heavy competition piece or some polished athlete bio. It feels more like a quick window into her world — skiing, city energy, mountain backdrop, and the kind of style that has always made her stand out.

Lisa Zimmermann is one of Germany’s most recognized freestyle skiers. She won slopestyle gold at the 2015 FIS Freestyle World Championships, later took gold in women’s ski big air at X Games Aspen 2017, and was also the first woman to land a double cork at X Games. Before freeskiing, she came from a figure skating background, which helps explain some of the control, flow, and style that have always been part of her skiing. She also competed for Germany at the 2014 Winter Olympics and, beyond contest skiing, has built a reputation through filming and street-focused projects too.

That is what makes this video work. It shows the side of skiing that is not just about podiums, but about presence, creativity, and point of view. Lisa helped push women’s freeskiing forward in competition, but edits like this are a good reminder that her impact also comes from the way she lives, takes care of her body and the style she brings to it.
