PANDORA Q&A
What’s the new construction changes present in the Pandora lineup and why?
We are always learning and iterating on our discovery through the ski development process. Internal staff and athletes alike, we all love the shape and feel of the Optic but were looking for something a little nimbler and more intuitive for those days that don’t require all the horsepower “Gas Pedal Metal” provides. So, with the new Pandora, you’ll find a lot of similarities to the Optic, but our engineer hit delete on the titanal. Our most durable Aspen Veneer core, full height sidewalls, and bio-resin make up the foundation of the new Pandora collection. In the 106 and 99 waist widths we beefed up those sidewalls to our Thick-Cut material and gave them fatty bases as well.
Who is the new Pandora lineup meant for?Everyone. This new Pandora has performance and material improvements from a construction and materials standpoint, but the shape, profile, and range of width options really opens it up to a wide range of skiers. If you are looking for a freeride ski that embodies the freestyle DNA of LINE, and has a more modern feel, the Pandora is for you. Rad Skis for Rad People.
Will someone who enjoyed the prior Pandora lineups enjoy this?If you liked Pandora before, you’ll really like this new one. We have learned a lot since developing the previous version. If you are buying into the new Pandora, your getting the collective progression of the Optic and Vision development in this new package.
*If you owned the Pandora 110 in the past, look at the new Vision 104 to get that super light freeride experience, all our freeride models are now gender inclusive and come in plenty of lengths to fit your needs.
2024/2025 LINE OPTIC in 88 · 96 · 104 · 114
(SIZE RUN VARIES BY SKI BUT EXPECT A RANGE OF 149-192cm LENGTHS ACROSS THE COLLECTION)Yeah, you read that title right. If you’ve ridden the Blade, then you know it belongs in a league of its own, so for 2024, we’re simplifying things from the Blade Optic Collection, to the Optic Collection.
Born from LINE’s history of pushing freeride skiing in a new direction, the Optic Collection continues to break the mold of traditional metal-laminate ski design. These aren’t your ordinary, dull metal laminate freeride skis. They’re LINE Freeride skis, and they charge like a freeride ski but play like a freestyle ski, and with four different waist widths to choose from, including an all-new Optic 88, there’s a lot to love about the Optic Collection. Complete with our unique Gas Petal Metal Overdrive™ layup, the Optic Collection was created for pedal to the metal ripping from the firmest of corduroy to the deepest of pow. Set your sights down the mountain, kick it into overdrive, and experience freeride through a new lens on the Optic Collection.
OPTIC Q&A
Name has changed? Why?
To simplify… When we launched the Blade Optic in 2022, we wanted to call out the connection to our innovative use of Titinal in the Blade. But… the Optic is such a different ski in terms of its application in the mountains, we feel like it can stand on its own merit now.
The name was clunky, even when called the “Bloptic”.
More to come!
2024/2025 LINE VISION in 96 · 104 · 114
(SIZE RUN VARIES BY SKI BUT EXPECT A RANGE OF 154-189cm LENGTHS ACROSS THE COLLECTION)
Vision can change over time, whether about one’s vision/ ideologies, a brand’s vision, or even your eyesight. In the case of the Vision Collection, our vision changed the day we tested the new Optic Collection. From the 88 to the 114, the Optic Collection skied so well that we knew we had to revamp the Vision Collection to match. We took the shape of the Optic 96, 104, and 114, removed the metal, increased the rocker, added a brand-new THC layup and the new Vision Collection was born. These changes resulted in incredibly lightweight yet stable skis for the uphill, with the versatility and performance that the Optic footprint offers for the downhill.Designed with our new Bio-Resin Tech, the Vision Collection doesn’t just feature improved skiing performance; it also features new environmentallyVISION Q&A
Who’s this ski for?
If you want a bomber freeride ski that is light enough to go uphill and isn’t completely boring to ski on, we got you covered. The new Vision shapes correspond to those of the Optic (Our full speed metal laminate freeride skis), just in a much lighter package...
What are the major construction changes? Why?Construction, we made some serious changes from the previous version. In the prior version of the Vision, we made the ski lighter but added more power and stability through the addition of THC (Triple Hybrid Construction) consisting of Fiberglass, Aramid, and Carbon. Now with this new installation of Vision models, we have swapped out the Aramid for a higher performing and sustainable Flax material. Because LINE skiers are real go-getters, these things need to holdup, so we also threw in some Thick-Cut sidewalls which really allows these things to punch above their weight class.
Is this ski just for touring?Nah… We don’t care what you do with them, as long as it’s in the spirit of having fun out there in the mountains. With that said, the Vision is the best suited for touring of all our Freeride skis. If you don’t plan on throwing some walkable bindings on the skis or some Daymakers in your pack, check out the Optic or Pandora collection to pick what’s best for you. We now build all 3 of these collections in gender inclusive sizes to offer a tight yet robust freeride collection for everyone.
Optic = Metal Laminate
Pandora = Midrange Non-Metal
Vision = Light Weight (But still rips)
